Chennai LymphoCare (CLC)

Specialized Care for Arm & Limb Swelling, Before & After It Begins

A dedicated clinic for the assessment, treatment, and long-term monitoring of lymphedema. Whether you are experiencing early symptoms after breast cancer surgery, or seeking advanced microsurgical repair, we help you regain mobility and improve your quality of life.

What lymphedema is, in simple terms

Lymphedema is a build-up of fluid that causes swelling, most often in an arm or leg. It can develop when the lymphatic system — the network that drains fluid from the tissues — is disrupted, for example after lymph nodes are removed or treated during cancer care.

It may begin as a feeling of heaviness or tightness before any swelling is visible. Lymphedema is a long-term condition, but with early assessment, the right treatment and regular monitoring, many people manage it well and maintain comfortable, active daily lives. This clinic supports you at every stage — from prevention and early detection to ongoing care.

What to expect

1

A conversation about your history

We discuss your surgery or treatment, any symptoms, and your day-to-day activities.

2

Examination and measurement

Both limbs are examined and measured so we have an accurate picture, and a baseline to compare against.

3

Compression & garments

We explain the findings and agree a treatment and monitoring plan that fits your needs.

4

Surgical assessment

We arrange review appointments to track progress and adjust care as needed.

Bringing this to your appointment helps

Your surgery and treatment summary or discharge notes, if you have them.
Any compression sleeve or garment you currently use.
A list of your current medicines.
Loose clothing that lets the arm be examined easily.

When to seek care sooner

Contact a doctor promptly — do not wait for your next appointment — if you notice:

  • Sudden increase in swelling.
  • Redness, warmth or the limb feeling hot.
  • Fever, chills or feeling generally unwell.
  • Pain or red streaks over the limb.

These can be signs of infection (cellulitis) and need timely medical attention.
